Melissa Gunther is a highly experienced Physician Assistant who has been serving the Salisbury community since 2012. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Salisbury University with a degree in Exercise Science and Summa Cum Laude from UMES with a degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
Throughout her career, Melissa has been dedicated to collaborative care, working with specialists and healthcare teams to provide the best possible outcomes for patients. She has served on committees with Tidal Health and the National Kidney Foundation and values the importance of patient-centered care in uncertain times. Melissa is also an advocate for education, both for her patients and herself. She believes that well-informed patients are empowered to take control of their health and make choices that can improve their quality of life.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Melissa has become an advocate for profession and public health education, serving as an honorary speaker for pharmaceutical company Amgen and hosting town hall meetings to discuss topics such as Advanced Directives and Living Wills. She is also a Certified Medical Cannabis Provider in Maryland, emphasizing her open-minded and holistic approach to healthcare.
In 2024, Melissa expanded her career by founding Lifestyles for Longevity, a health and wellness education & coaching company designed to support individuals in achieving their wellness goals beyond traditional office visits. Through Lifestyles for Longevity, she offers personalized coaching to help clients shift their diet and lifestyle habits, with the goal of reducing reliance on medications and fostering long-term health and vitality.
Outside of her professional work, Melissa leads an active, family-oriented lifestyle with her three sons. She enjoys yoga, working out, running, dancing, cooking, and spending time at local spots like Roaring Point and Pemberton Park. She is also dedicated to supporting her sons in their athletic and extracurricular pursuits.
